Sergio Leone's landmark epic about well-deserved revenge. It was the inspiration for ONCE UPON A TIME IN CHINA, ONCE UPON A TIME IN MEXICO, and KILL BILL (which is dedicated to the memory of Charles Bronson).

Ennio's spacious arrangements set the tone for Leone's pacing of the film. A brilliantly hard chord from a baritone guitar seethes between strung-out strings; the horn lifts it like a lament and a reckoning.
